Remi and Raiza Biza Release Runner featuring Production by Black Milk

Melbourne artist REMI and musical collaborator Sensible J are one of the fastest-rising Hip Hop acts in Australia and are quickly gaining the attention of international tastemakers.

“This is the first body of work we’ve ever done that feels like it’s a diary. It’s pretty much my experience of the last two years in terms of relationship stuff, race stuff, political observations and mental health. I think you can hear that in the album, you can hear that it’s my brain… lyrically”. – Remi

Out on REMI’s imprint, House of Beige, the sixteen-track sophomore LP features the widely loved singles “For Good” featuring Sampa the Great, and “Substance Therapy”, and “Lose Sleep” featuring Jordan Rakei.

As well as performing their own sold-out headline tours and world-class festivals, REMI have also shared the stage with Danny Brown, Vic Mensa, De La Soul, Joey Bada$$ and in December this year were invited to perform Gorillaz tracks with Damon Albarn on each of his Australian Tour shows. REMI’s appeal is as diverse as it is impressive.

“Runner” is a high tempo beat driven out an out hip hop track with dynamic production and hooks throughout, and shows why Black Milk is one of hip hops most respected producers, and why Remi and Raiza Biza are two of the most exciting emcees coming out of the Southern Hemisphere.

After generating an inescapable buzz in Australia and underground hip-hop scenes across the globe, Sydney’s Triple One have now released their new single ‘Showoff.’ Having accumulated well over 20 million total streams, Triple One are Australia’s most promising emerging hip-hop act, and state their mission once more on ‘Showoff.’

Premiering on triple j, ‘Showoff’ features the group’s signature blend of hard-headed rap, melodic hooks and intense production. The accompanying video clip is shot in a nostalgic high school setting, but with very subversive undertones – featuring cameos from Triple One’s favourite rap colleagues and collaborators including ChillinIt, Wombat, Huskii, Lil Sknow, Raj Mahal, Talakai, Turquoise Prince and Freesouls. The video was created by Entropico, with styling by Asia Carino and photography by Cole Bennetts.

“The Australian hip-hop scene is crazy right now, we wanted to unite some of our favourite artists to replicate our own high school days,” Triple One say. “That, and we wanted to wear school uniforms again. Forgot how to do a tie, but we got there in the end.”

Thus far, Triple One’s career has progressed entirely organically, reaching all corners of the globe through online sharing. Fan favourite track ‘Autumn Collection’ has reached over 5 million streams online, while cult singles like ‘Doozy’ have become instantly quotable anthems, displaying the group’s ability to switch between R&B and rap with slick confidence.

With sell-out shows and recent festival appearances at Listen Out and Bigsound, Triple One will continue hitting stages all over the country including Festival of the Sun and Falls Festival this summer, with their shows earning a notorious live reputation. Triple One are not to be missed live, but stand well back if you’re scared of getting your beer spilled.

After touring the world, & returning to play one of the biggest music festivals in Australia, Splendour In The Grass, African-Australian artist MANU CROOKS has dropped a special collab track “Best Years” with fellow Western Sydney artists B Wise and Lil Spacely.

Manu Crooks has consistently made waves internationally over the past twelve months. From his breakout single “Everyday” immediately added to world-renowned radio station triple j, to his Beats 1 Radio & Zane Lowe-endorsed “Blowin’ Up” & “Assumptions”, Manu Crooks has surpassed any definitive entry level status to loud anticipation.

His debut mood forever project, executively produced by Miracle & DOPAM!NE, displayed Manu’s innate ability to swerve in an unpredictable trajectory while sustaining his thematic moodiness. This effort continued into 2018 with “Buddy Buddy” appearing on Spotify covers worldwide, “Presence” being added to New Music Friday in the US, and “Different League” (filmed in Paris) being praised by UK press while touring in Europe in January.

Manu Crooks’ most recent single “Fuego” has set Crooks into the limelight with rotation on triple j (AUS) & Kiss Fresh (UK), over 4 million streams on Spotify, as well as a world tour which included a massive Toronto show with ASAP Ferg and a European tour with SAINt JHN.

Rapper Charles X and Hypeman Golo (fka R2D2) give us Western Sydney’s rap duo Cult Shφtta. Noted for their eccentric signature style and stage presence, the childhood friends are nothing less than colourful.

Likkel Rider Album Artwork.jpg

With the recent release of their single ‘Boomin’ featuring Atlanta rapper Reese Laflare, and recently inking a deal with Sydney’s Poster Child agency. Never ones to sit still, the duo have recently released their next offering of wavey post-punk mutant rap entitled ‘Likkel Rider’. The track is self produced and begins with a haunting sample that creeps into a driving trap beat – perfectly melding the two worlds together all whilst Charles X echoes the singles title.

Something a little different from the duo, the track continues its journey into a melodic verse that echoes the hallmarks of Charles’ ability to write swooning rap melodies. Golo is never too far form the action and ensures the the duos signature ad libs are present throughout.

Cult Shφtta’s energy and following hasn’t gone unnoticed, landing them performances at festivals such as The Plot, Snow Tunes and Hard Grime – the duo are also proud to announce their recent signing to TMRW Music Group imprint Poster Child…home to artists such as Kilter, Ebony Boadu, Go Freek, Kinder and more.

With plenty more tricks up their sleeve, it’s easy to see why 2018 is predicted to be the
year of the SHØTTA!!!

PREMIERE: Perth Hip Hop Duo Otiuh Release ’85’

Otiuh are a Perth hip hop duo comprised of childhood friends Cesare Papa and Jahmeil Baker. They combine golden age lyricism with eclectic production and an infusion of funk & soul. The name of the group is taken from a Latin abstract term which refers to leisure time.

It was during these moments at concerts, festivals and in each other’s’ backyards rhyming where the two found their drive to make music. Being fans first, they cite influences anywhere from A Tribe Called Quest to Run the Jewels.

The duo released their first mixtape in 2017 and began performing around Perth. They soon formed a band and released a string of self-produced singles leading into 2018, gaining national airplay along the way. The act is gearing to release their second single of this year, ’85.

’85 is a neck-snapping groove that imagines the duo in a “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” type situation. A state where freedom of expression is enjoyed on the desert road away from society.

Otiuh deliver fast paced, braggadocios verses which bounce off exotic percussion and a creamy synth bassline. The track is further fleshed out by the baritone vocals of fellow Perth rapper José Halftime during the chorus and the screaming guitar of bandmate Will Johnson toward the end of the song.
