Melbourne-based producer Royalz has recently released his debut album Live 95 on local imprint GRHYME Productions. The impressive debut features the likes of Conway aka Conway The Machine of Shady Records / Interscope and Roc Marci aka Roc Marciano over a stacked 12-tracks will no fillers. A hip-hop purist at heart, Live 95 is the capstone project so far in a career spanning almost 15 years and a dozen or so various releases of sorts since his Sinergy Crew days. Steadily honing and building his craft, this release promises to help elevate Royalz to the next level that his production now commands.

The quality release is interesting in the sense that it combines two top quality feature verses from American emcees currently at the top of their game with a mixture of verses from well established Australian emcees including Kings Konekted, Tornts, Dialect, Hau, One Sixth, DownPat, Bigfoot of Hired Goons, Angus Younga plus New Yorks’ SmooVth.

Royalz over recent years has been highly prolific on the remix, churning out an impressive catalog of high-quality remixes from the likes of Hau, Delta, Trem, Bias B, Vents, Brad Strut and his trio of Man vs Maschine releases. It will be interesting to see where Royalz goes next, but for now, he joins a growing list of Australian producers making their significant mark on hip-hop beyond their home country currently which includes the likes of M-Phazes, Kronic, Ghosts In The Room, Katalyst and Discourse.

Australian producer Ghosts In The Room earlier this month released the four-track joint EP with G-Unit’s Young Buck titled Until Death on Mudd Music. The short but sweet release builds on the single in which they teamed up with Future and Kerser titled “Total Concentration” which proved to be one of the biggest American – Australian hip-hop collaborations yet.

Although Until Death itself clocks in at only 13 minutes long, it is also blessed with a wealth of features from Australian rappers including Manaz Ill, Mitchos Da Menace, TKO, Fortay, Omac, Cortext as well as Alabama’s Rich Boy.

Ghosts In The Room himself is a Hip-Hop producer from Australia’s capital Canberra of Mudd Music who has been producing beats since the early 2000s and cites The Alchemist, RZA and Just Blaze as key musical influences. Ghosts In The Room has worked previously with Iron Solomon, Kool G Rap, Okwerdz, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Bishop Lamont, Big Pooh, Mistah F.A.B., Block McCloud of Army Of The Pharaohs, Ras Kass, Ruste Juxx, Shabaam Sahdeeqplus a stack of talented locals over the last few years. Grammy-awarding winning R&B star Eric Bellinger returns to tour Australia and New Zealand, playing 11 shows across the stacked fortnight for his Eazy Call tour promoting his fourth studio album of the same name. Eric Bellinger has proven to be particularly popular “down under,” having toured multiple times over recent years.

The talented singer and songwriter have worked with the likes of Usher, E-40, The Game, Chris Brown, DJ Mustard, Ashanti, Brandy amongst many others. His latest charting release in Eazy Call which was released in April this year follows a string of mixtapes and EPs that he has released in recent years, developing his legacy as a talented performer in his own right. Compton-based award-winning rapper YG has recently announced that he will be returning to Australia and New Zealand for his second solo tour following the release of his successful third album Stay Dangerous on 4 Hunnid Records x CTE World x Def Jam Recordings earlier this month. YG is set to tour again through all major cities in Australia on the East Coast playing solo headline shows, a major festival as well as stopping off to hit Auckland in New Zealand. YG has proved hugely popular down under, with three singles and all three albums charting in Australia making it his strongest international market bar neighboring Canada.

His new 15-track album features the likes of long-time collaborator DJ Mustard, YoungBoy NBA, Quavo of the Migos, Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky plus more and debuted at #5 on the US Billboard 200 charts. Stay Dangerous is also his first release to crack the Top 20 in Australia at #15 and currently sits at #21 in New Zealand too.
