After a successful run through the Australian series of The X-Factor, Lazy J took off with multiple releases building a solid Australian fan base. His feature on European superstar Faydee’s hit record ‘Laugh Till you Cry’ saw exposure to a new market, with the video exceeding over 60 million Youtube views, being the #1 record in multiple European countries 12 weeks straight.
However, after a few successful years throughout his late teens, J was involved in an incident that would set him back from creating music for a while.
In October 2012, Lazy J was involved in a brawl after a confrontation at his gig led to him being stabbed outside of a nightclub. Since returning back to the music game in 2017, J has released a mixtape titled ‘Gone A Minute Too Long’, with the hit single Flatline being the first to receive a visual treatment. Now in 2018, Lazy J hasn’t wasted a minute. His latest track Make Money Not Friends features NZ artist Poetik and is produced by local producer DJ Sefru.
