After generating an inescapable buzz in Australia and underground hip-hop scenes across the globe, Sydney’s Triple One have now released their new single ‘Showoff.’ Having accumulated well over 20 million total streams, Triple One are Australia’s most promising emerging hip-hop act, and state their mission once more on ‘Showoff.’

Premiering on triple j, ‘Showoff’ features the group’s signature blend of hard-headed rap, melodic hooks and intense production. The accompanying video clip is shot in a nostalgic high school setting, but with very subversive undertones – featuring cameos from Triple One’s favourite rap colleagues and collaborators including ChillinIt, Wombat, Huskii, Lil Sknow, Raj Mahal, Talakai, Turquoise Prince and Freesouls. The video was created by Entropico, with styling by Asia Carino and photography by Cole Bennetts.

“The Australian hip-hop scene is crazy right now, we wanted to unite some of our favourite artists to replicate our own high school days,” Triple One say. “That, and we wanted to wear school uniforms again. Forgot how to do a tie, but we got there in the end.”

Thus far, Triple One’s career has progressed entirely organically, reaching all corners of the globe through online sharing. Fan favourite track ‘Autumn Collection’ has reached over 5 million streams online, while cult singles like ‘Doozy’ have become instantly quotable anthems, displaying the group’s ability to switch between R&B and rap with slick confidence.

With sell-out shows and recent festival appearances at Listen Out and Bigsound, Triple One will continue hitting stages all over the country including Festival of the Sun and Falls Festival this summer, with their shows earning a notorious live reputation. Triple One are not to be missed live, but stand well back if you’re scared of getting your beer spilled.
