Triple One share new single ‘Loverose’, the first from their debut album

Triple One has finally given fans a glimpse of their first full-length release. That comes in the form of ‘Loverose‘, a reflective yet triumphant single that continues to challenge the bounds of Australian Hip Hop.

Touching on sacrifice, the tentative nature of success, and what it means to achieve something in both their personal and professional lives, the new track contrasts these narratives with Elon Musk type exploration.

“Loverose is a song about the flawed nature of intimate love. Humans are an imperfect creation and also mortal. This makes love a lot harder, but also a lot more beautiful.

Marty Bugatti

Triple One’s debut album has no set date for release just yet. The release of ‘Loverose’ follows three EPs and a torrent of standalone singles that have catapulted the foursome to international acclaim, including their ARIA Gold-certified mental health anthem ‘Butter‘ and radio favourites ‘So Easy‘ and ‘Handyman‘.

Triple One’s notoriously chaotic live gigs include a sold-out national tour in 2019, and show-stealing sets at Listen OutHidden, and Falls Festival. ‘Loverose‘ by Triple One is out now, buy/stream it here.

Triple One release long-awaited new single, ‘Handyman’

Explosive Sydney rap group Triple One have today shared the studio version of a long-running live favorite in the form of their new single, ‘Handyman’.

Following up their collaborative single with Matt Corby, ‘So Easy‘, ‘Handyman’is the group’s first new music of 2020. An infectious, three-minute ride that never sits still, teaming overblown bass with a playfully whistling melody and Triple One’s usual dynamic vocal interplay and tongue-in-cheek approach to hip-hop braggadocio.

Directed by FEMME.tv, the music video is a homage to suburban Australiana, taking nostalgic cues from the group’s teenagedom, exaggerating them to the point of hyperbolic caricature and throwing them all together into a bogan paradise.

Director Natasha Foster says that:“When the boys from Triple One approached us with a script about a bogan couple, I was excited to take the narrative and pull it apart, make it more abstract and create a hyper color bogan community and shoot on a suburban street… I loved that the boys gave me the creative freedom to be able to take a script and expand it into something that still tells the same story, but in a more visual way. We love creating work full of colour and filling the frame with lots of talent. I think we succeeded in creating Aussie suburbia on crack.”

YG Announces Triple One As Support For Australian Tour

YG has revealed that Sydney motley crew Triple One will be the national support for his Australian tour which will hit our shores in two short weeks.

Continuing their whirlwind year, sharing the stage with YG will be among the many highlights. Their breakout hit ‘Tarlo’ brought their vicious and volatile raps to the masses with an add-on triple j, leading the way for singles ‘Valentine Kid’ and ‘Showoff’ to follow. The crew boast over 600,000 monthly Spotify listeners and were crowned triple j unearthed’s Feature Artist of the Week in June.

YG will be joining us to launch his most recent, third studio album ‘STAY DANGEROUS’ released in August and features guest appearances from A$AP Rocky, Nicky Minaj, Ty Dolla Sign and more. The full length debuted at #5 on the US Billboard 200 – his third top ten in the US – with single ‘Big Bank’ going Platinum. In Australia, it debuted at #15 on the ARIA Album Charts.

The tour will coincide with his slot at Spilt Milk in Canberra which has sold out, making the national tour the only place to catch YG.

YG’s debut album ‘My Krazy Life’ dropped in 2014 with features from Drake and Schoolboy Q amongst its guests, sending the 14-tracker to number two on the album charts. His follow up ‘Still Brazy’ took a more political route, the viral, anti-Donald Trump single ‘FDT’ became an anthem during the presidential election in 2016. YG also entered the ARIA Top 20 charts in 2016 with Jeremih, featuring on his international knockout hit ‘Don’t Tell Em’.

Over his time in the music industry, YG’s collaborated with the best including Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent solidifying his heavyweight status.

YG heads back to Australia after his debut 2015 co-headline tour with long-time collaborator Ty Dolla $ign. His follow up 2017 tour sold-out in record time and forced a reschedule to accommodate all his die-hard fans. He then returned to the US to support Kendrick Lamar on the 15-date D.A.M.N tour, ensuring his incredible high energy live show is certified by the best.

Get ready to party this November as YG and triple One storm through the nation.

After generating an inescapable buzz in Australia and underground hip-hop scenes across the globe, Sydney’s Triple One have now released their new single ‘Showoff.’ Having accumulated well over 20 million total streams, Triple One are Australia’s most promising emerging hip-hop act, and state their mission once more on ‘Showoff.’

Premiering on triple j, ‘Showoff’ features the group’s signature blend of hard-headed rap, melodic hooks and intense production. The accompanying video clip is shot in a nostalgic high school setting, but with very subversive undertones – featuring cameos from Triple One’s favourite rap colleagues and collaborators including ChillinIt, Wombat, Huskii, Lil Sknow, Raj Mahal, Talakai, Turquoise Prince and Freesouls. The video was created by Entropico, with styling by Asia Carino and photography by Cole Bennetts.

“The Australian hip-hop scene is crazy right now, we wanted to unite some of our favourite artists to replicate our own high school days,” Triple One say. “That, and we wanted to wear school uniforms again. Forgot how to do a tie, but we got there in the end.”

Thus far, Triple One’s career has progressed entirely organically, reaching all corners of the globe through online sharing. Fan favourite track ‘Autumn Collection’ has reached over 5 million streams online, while cult singles like ‘Doozy’ have become instantly quotable anthems, displaying the group’s ability to switch between R&B and rap with slick confidence.

With sell-out shows and recent festival appearances at Listen Out and Bigsound, Triple One will continue hitting stages all over the country including Festival of the Sun and Falls Festival this summer, with their shows earning a notorious live reputation. Triple One are not to be missed live, but stand well back if you’re scared of getting your beer spilled.
