Perth-based rap artist Black Napoleon returns with new single ‘Pack’ out now!

“The best advice I have received towards music is to have fun with it, and to never lose that fun at any stage in your career.” – Black Napoleon

Perth-based rap artist Black Napoleon is back with his first official release of 2020, the new single ‘Pack’ is out now and available on all platforms. This smooth new track is hinged on Napoleon’s desire to “come back to the scene and just make good music again”.

With production by way of Chris Rich Beats, the drill filled record provides an eerie atmosphere in which enigmatic production is complimented by Napoleon’s progressive and drill-based flows.

Growing up in the era of the rise of notable MC’s like Jay-Z, and Kanye West, Black Napoleon has had his musical influence established in the roots of Hip-Hop culture itself. Napoleon’s drill-based style is a mix of these hallmarks of the Rap Industry and drill-based rappers such as Harlem Spartans, and OFB in addition to the Australian acts such as OneFour.

No stranger to running up numbers, Black Napoleon has accumulated over half a million streams on past releases under collaborative project “K9INES” and has gained nods from publications across the globe.

With ‘Pack’ being the first of many releases scheduled this year, make sure to follow his socials for more updates and stay tuned for the follow-up releases on the way!

Otiuh Release New Video For ‘Pour It Up’ Follows The Release Of EP La Festa

“We wanted the music video to look how the music sounds; colourful, energetic, and not taking itself too seriously…” – Cesare

Following the release of the high energy 7-track EP La Festa, released last month, hip hop duo Otiuh share their new video clip for ‘Pour It Up’. Filmed, directed, produced and performed independently (with help from Perth videographer Dylan Guy), Otiuh are the makers of their own hip hop fantasy.

The lead single of their EP, ‘Pour It Up’ is inspired by the retrospect of a night out where you begin to question the world around you. In the verse: “Bunch of white dudes in the Ralph polo, did you even go out if you ain’t in the photo?”, solely highlights the sometimes superficial moments of partying. It’s a collective moment that’s been experienced by many; looking around on a night out and thinking “what the hell am I doing here?”.

The overall aesthetic of the video is perfectly set to track’s satirical and bouncy mood. The track is also driven by a Mediterranean style guitar riff, showcasing the duo’s widespread influences and distinct sound that separates them from other hip hop acts in Australia, of which is further explored in their EP.

Due to COVID restrictions, the pair had to work within their limitations to produce a video clip that aided the track’s narrative and vibe – and they have done just that. Filmed over the course of one weekend in Cesare Papa’s backyard, the video itself acts much like an introduction to the EP as a whole. As Cesare says: “These restrictions made us do what we do best; make familiar, ordinary locations look quirky & psychedelic. It felt like the pressure was off on this one. We were the crew as well as the performers operating strobe lights and smoke machines, so we planned it to be as easy as possible for ourselves. We let our crazy ideas run wild, kept concept loose.”

The video also acts as an interlude between the two tracks ‘Pour It Up’ and ‘Smoke Break’ (feat. MALi JO$E); the clip features a performance-focused segment, tied in with a psychedelic mechanic scene where the specific transition takes place.

‘Pour It Up’ official video is out NOW via 6KCM. Listen and stream Otiuh’s EP La Festa on all streaming platforms NOW!

They’ll get shocked when I peek at you” – CG Fez

Western Sydney artist CG Fez has recently released his debut single, ‘Take 1’ after being signed to Hauie Beasts label ‘Forever Ever’.

“What captivated me about [CG Fez] was his wordplay, bars, storytelling, but most importantly, the conviction in which he delivers it all, and his willingness to listen and learn,” – Hau Lakutefu

Here’s what CG Fex had to say about the signing;

“When your dream and life goal correlates, a part of me feels as if the world conspires for it to happen. Music is my love, and to bring a contrast to the world is my goal. So being able to team up with the family at Forever Ever and the crew at Sony only felt right.

“Which leads me to ‘Take 1’. It’s raw and gritty, the same texture we have in our lives out in the west. Which is why I think it’s the perfect kick start to my journey.”

The new track is an absolute grunter, it’s a tasty first single for everyone to sink their teeth into. Teaming up with i.amsolo who mixed, produced and mastered Take 1, is an exciting introduction for hungry rapper ready to take on the scene. Blondieman Releases B.O.A.T featuring Mic Pompei, Flu and Maundz

BLONDIEMAN can be described in many ways… human, blonde, possibly a man. He has been described as ‘the inimitable maestro’ by some. Whichever way you want to go you can’t sleep on his brand new album title B.O.A.T.

Following on from the Blondieman EP relesed late March, B.O.A.T is a cosmic journey through time and space ridding upon the jizz ejaculated from a half man, half dolphin being. The albums crazy artwork created by Bonnita Gillard, sets the scene. We really didn’t need another album cover with a fake plastic wrapping design.

There’s just no denying the level that this project sits upon. Forget trends, forget dickheads, forget artists who like to tongue fuck each others dickholes for triple j plays, this one in straight up in a lane of its own. No one does it like Phil Gektor.

Cop a facial from Blondieman’s latest release B.O.A.T out now.
