Zimbabwean born, Perth native Alex Parkman emerges with his debut, feature length single, Out of Touch. Parkman delivers a smooth blend of new-wave Hip Hop and R&B with deep, emotive concepts.
As a Zimbabwean born immigrant, He moved to Australia with excitement for his new life. With the challenges of adjusting to a new culture, Alex quickly found comfort in knowing that music transcended all cultural barriers.
For him, making music was a gateway to connect and formed a sense of belonging. Out of Touch is an emotional anthem that explores aspects of lust, communication, and love. It delves into the idea of a distant relationship that is constantly out of reach.
I can see I’m bad for your health I saw it in your eyes, I could tell you needed help I just want you all to myself You told me you were loved, can you tell me how it felt
The single utilises a range of moody synths and leads to create an emotional canvas for Alex’s deep, distorted vocals. The minimalist percussion and heavy auto-tune create a sombre yet flowing soundtrack to emphasise the themes of love and lust presented in the lyrics.
Parkman plans to spend 2018 releasing stand-alone singles and working with a wide variety of up and coming producers to further craft his dynamic and authentic sound before the release of his debut EP due in late 2019.

A debut album is a momentous occasion, so it’s with great anticipation we reveal ‘Area Famous’ from B Wise, one of Australia’s most exciting new talents, set for release on Friday 14 September. You don’t need to understand the importance of Sydney’s South-West to appreciate the music of B Wise, but the neighbourhoods he grew up in shaped the artist you’re hearing.
The songs celebrate the suburban streets where fibro and brick are intermixed, kids in the front yard, cars on the lawn and the greatest social melting pot in Australia wakes up everyday and makes a go of it. Wise is a product of that multicultural spirit of respect and aspiration, and they’re found throughout his scintillating flows on ‘Area Famous’.
It’s been a hectic 10 months for the rapper, with the success of singles Feel Something and The Key, a 35 date national tour with Thundamentals, a show-stopping performance at Splendour in the Grass and a huge triple Like A Version appearance in June.
From the initial waves he created off the back of Prince Akeem, B Wise has continually delivered impactful songwriting and opened up a distinct lane in Australian music. It’s a lane that connects with young African youth as much as it does suburban triple j listeners. ‘Area Famous’ is the grand statement of an artist we’ve been waiting for, someone who doesn’t look or feel like anything we’ve heard before.
From the joy and energy of The Key to the collected confidence of Actin’ Different, or the rich storytelling on the Kaiit assisted Time, ‘Area Famous’ is a fierce body of work. It features production by beatsmiths on the cutting edge of their craft; from grammy nominated Uno Stereo to DOPAM!NE, Adit (Horrorshow), Willie Tafa, Juve and more.
With the announcement of his debut album dropping next month, B Wise will be celebrating with his first headline tour across Australia kicking off in October! Presented by triple j, Niche and Elefant Traks.
