Manchester MC Aitch Drops New Single ‘Raw’ 🥩

After a dormant few months, Mancunian rap powerhouse Aitch has floored fans with impactful new offering ‘Raw’. The freestyle lands in the wake of his chart-topping collaborative single ‘Rain’ with AJ Tracey x Tay Keith – which is still in the UK Top 20 weeks later and on the verge of platinum status. Aitch will perform the track this weekend at BBC Radio 1’s first virtual Big Weekend, featuring sets from YUNGBLUD, Rex Orange County, HAIM and more.

A reminder of Aitch’s lyrical prowess and versatility, ‘Raw’ sees the 20-year-old talent spitting his way through a declaration of confidence and truth – a recap of his success so far. The single, produced by Whyjay and Sangy, is accompanied by a dark and moody visual (directed by KC Locke) – watch below. It’s a mission statement from the young rapper, who is hailed one of the most exciting talents in the UK right now: “Young Aitch, Big Boss, I’m The Captain.”

Adapting his trademark flow to any beat, Aitch is undoubtedly one of the biggest success stories of the last year. Covering The Guardian Guide last month, and garnering support from the likes of NME, GQ, Vogue, Clash and beyond, Aitch is on the rise – even Stormzy and Ed Sheeran are fans. Debut offering ‘Straight Rhymez’ has garnered more than 19 million views, credited as the video that propelled the then-teenage Aitch, into the limelight.

Since then, Aitch has gone on to make his mark globally – he is YouTube’s ‘Artist On The Rise’, has a Brit Award nomination under his belt and a Global Award win for ‘Best New Artist’. His video for single ‘Taste (Make It Shake)’ has accrued 28M views, and at one point he even featured on four songs in the UK Official Chart at one time. A keen collaborator and integral part of the UK Rap Scene, Aitch has seen huge success with his features on Young T and Bugsey ‘Strike Me A Pose’, Russ x Tion Wayne ‘Kesha Becky (Remix)’, Ed Sheeran ‘Take Me Back To London’ and more recently, alongside DigDat on ‘Ei8ht Mile’.

“Feelin’ Myself” is the new collaborative track from Mista Monk / Meiken / Secret Agent 23 & Debrissa McKinney bringing back them old’skool vibes

Production by Stay Nice

Someone once told us the definition of “magic” is changing the world by first changing your own perception, then using that to affect everything else.

This track is 5 different forms of hypnosis rolled into one super potent, perception changing music burrito. Like a dream that reminds you what life is really about, this song is a fresh breeze blowing off the ocean of possibilities.

Featuring Grammy award-winning, purple velvet tuxedo wearing family funk phenomenon, Secret Agent 23 (USA). Who’s opened up for MOS DEF, RUN DMC, and The P-Funk All-Stars. Playing festivals like Woodford (AUS) and Lollapalooza (USA). The track also features Melbourne made DJ/Producer/MC Mista Monk, of afro-jazz outfit Black Jesus Experience. From live organic hip-hop roots with Culture Connect to performing with Ethio-Jazz legend Mulatu Astake, Monk has also collaborated with Inkswel, Mista Savona, Ganga Giri, Illuminati Congo and Digital Afrika amongst many others. Holding it down at festivals like Glastonbury and Big Chill Festivals in the UK, Azgo (Mozambique) and Rainbow Serpent (AUS).

On vocals and a verse is Melbourne raised, GoldCoast based Meiken, who can be seen on tour with Freestyle Mafia across Aus. Playing festivals like Subsonic, Rainbow Serp, Earth Freq, Island Vibes, and touring across Europe and Aus with their music and stand-up comedy also. Collaborating with artists like Mad Professor, Mista Savona and a list of talent longer than your nan’s pension payouts. Soul sister on the hook with Meiken is Debrissa McKinney (USA), seasoned performer, proud vegan and touring artist, with roots in North Carolina.

On the beat, we have underground Australian music scene slayer Stay Nice, who’s production flashes a unique style of dreamy soul moving melodies, sprinkled delicately over-head, with sexy drum kits and face-melting bass-lines. His worldwide influence and soulful beats blend between reggae, dub, jazz, funk and hip-hop. Stay Nice has performed in venues and festivals across Australia which has lead him to produce music for artists all over the country as well as overseas.

All the artists met on stage freestyling at the Beach Hotel’s 420 Sound, in Byron Bay this year, not long after Woodford. It was fyah and love at first cypher, Stay Nice took them right into the studio, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This song is purely a reminder. Don’t give up on your dreams folks, you got this. Artist instagrams: @mistamonkmc / @_meiken / @secretagent23skidoo / @debrissa1 / @stay_nice_

UK To Australia: UK Grime Artist Yizzy Release’s ‘YEAH’ Remix feat. Nerve & Shadow

Traditionally rooted heavily in London culture, Yizzy is making pioneering moves to bring together the global grime talent base starting by teaming up with two of Australia’s best: ‘Shadow’ and ‘Nerve’, for the first major international Grime collaboration on this remix of his high octane banger – ‘YEAH’.0N1A2794.jpgThe track kicks off with striking cinematic horn samples moving straight through to Yizzy’s high energy chorus -throwing back to the old school call and response Grime bars, juxtaposed with the choral samples that legendary producer Mr Virgo has become well known for. One for the club and for the car, YEAH is 4 minutes of unrelenting power. Shadow and Nerve’s respective verses embrace the 140BPM energy whilst giving it their own unique Aussie flair.Yizzy is an MC who demands attention, his rapid rise in the scene proves that he is a force to be reckoned with. A massive 2018 with the critically acclaimed ‘SOS’ EP saw Yizzy stack up several million Spotify streams and numerous end of year lists. Causing serious heat in the underground, previously collaborating with Terror Danjah, Treble Clef and Skengdo and AM, it seems there is no stopping him for 2019.

Both Shadow and Nerve are known figures on the Australian scene and recently emerging onto the global grime scene with features on the triple j show and 100’s of live shows under their belt. One of the front runners of the next generation of grime, Yizzy is pioneering not only the sound but also the changing scope of what next generation grime means.
